According to Resolution No. 936 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated November 22, 2017, a decision was made to establish a Museum of Remembrance of Victims of Repression within higher education institutions in all regions. On May 18, 2018, a grand opening ceremony for the Museum of Remembrance of Victims of Repression was held at Bukhara State University on the occasion of International Museum Day. The event was attended by B.V. Khasanov, Director of the Museum of Remembrance of Victims of Repression under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, representatives of regional khokimiyats, the Nuroniy and Mahalla charitable foundations, professors, teachers, students, and family members of victims of repression. The museum consists of three halls and covers the period from 1865 to the present. The museum exhibits include 19th-century artifacts, valuable archival documents, as well as photographs and film footage.
